MACS-2 Command Senior Enlisted Leader
Sergeant Major Shannon L. Perry

Sergeant Major Perry Is a native of New Jersey.  She enlisted in the Marine Corps in March 2002, and attended recruit training at 4th Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, at Parris Island, South Carolina. In July of 2002, she reported to the School of Infantry and completed Marine Combat Training (MCT). Upon completion of MCT, She reported to Camp Johnson, NC to attend the Basic Maintenance Management Specialist Course. Upon completion of school, she received orders to Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Futenma, Okinawa, Japan.

In November of 2002, Private First Class Perry was assigned as a Maintenance Management Clerk for MASS Deuce, Okinawa Japan. While in this billet, she deployed to Korea to participate in, Ulchi Focus Lens. In May of 2003, she was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.

In November of 2003, Lance Corporal Perry received orders to the School Of Infantry East, Camp Johnson North Carolina, to serve as the Maintenance Management Clerk for Headquarters Company SOI- E. In September of 2004, she was promoted to the rank of Corporal.  

In October 2006, Corporal Perry received orders to II MEF G-4 Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to serve as a Maintenance Management Analyst, and began training to be deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where she served as a Maintenance Management Analyst for II MEF Forward. In May of 2007, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.   

In March 2008, Sergeant Perry received orders to MWSS-272, Marine Corps Air Station, New River, North Carolina, to serve as the Maintenance Management Chief. 

In January 2010, Sergeant Perry received orders to Logistics Operations School, Camp Johnson, North Carolina, to serve as an instructor, curriculum developer, and course manager for the Maintenance Management Specialist Course, The Maintenance Management Chiefs Course as well as the Logistics Operations Officers’ course. In March of 2011, she was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

In July 2012, Staff Sergeant Perry reported to Drill Instructor School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon completion of Drill Instructor School she was assigned to the 4th Recruit Training Battalion, Papa Company. While assigned to 4th Recruit Training Battalion, she held the positions of Drill Instructor, and Senior Drill Instructor. She was then assigned to Drill Instructor School where she held the billets of Instructor, Squad Instructor and Academic Coordinator. In June, of 2014, she was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. 

In November 2015 Gunnery Sergeant Perry received orders to I Marine Expeditionary Force, I Marine Information Group, Camp Pendleton, California, where she served as the Maintenance Management Chief. In May of 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Perry was promoted the rank of First Sergeant and assigned as the Headquarters Company First Sergeant.  

In September of 2018, First Sergeant Perry received orders to 8th Communications Battalion, where she served as the Company First Sergeant for both Bravo Company and General Support Company.

In May of 2021, First Sergeant Perry received orders to Marine Corps Engineer School, where she served as the Company First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company. In July of 2022, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major and received orders to her current assignment as the Sergeant Major for Marine Air Control Squadron 2. 

Sergeant Major Perry’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, gold star in lieu of forth award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, gold star in lieu of third award.
