MACG-28 Command Senior Enlisted Leader
Sergeant Major Kenneth Bansah

Sergeant Major Bansah enlisted in the Marine Corps in November 2000, and completed recruit training at MCRD, Paris Island, South Carolina, in February 2001. Following recruit training, Private Bansah attended Marine Combat Training and MOS school at Camp Johnson. Upon completion, he was assigned the MOS of 0121, Personnel Administrative Clerk, and was promoted to Private First Class. Private First Class Bansah was transferred to 12th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan in June 2001. Private First Class Bansah was re-assigned to III MEF Headquarters Group as a Legal Administrative Clerk in July 2001 and was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal, Corporal, and Sergeant. With III MEF Headquarters Group, Sergeant Bansah participated in exercises Ulchi Focus Lens, Balikatan, Cobra Gold, Crocodile, and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Sergeant Bansah was then transferred to Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Base Quantico in September 2004 as Personnel Administrative Audit Chief. After a year in this assignment, he was recognized by MCAAT during their inspection, augmented to the CMC IG Inspection Team, and was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in April 2007. Staff Sergeant Bansah received orders in June 2007 to Region 6, Pretoria, South Africa, Marine Corps Embassy Security Group as an Administrative Chief where he remained until receiving orders to MSG School as a student detachment commander in September 2009. He graduated from MSG School in December 2009, and was assigned to Marine Security Guard Detachment Colombo, Sri Lanka where he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. In July 2011, Gunnery Sergeant Bansah was transferred to Luanda, Angola as the Detachment Commander. In December 2012, Gunnery Sergeant Bansah received orders to Headquarters and Service Battalion, 2d Marine Division where he served as an Administrative Chief.

In March 2014, First Sergeant Bansah was transferred to 2d Battalion, 2d Marines where he served as the Company First Sergeant for Easy Company, Headquarters and Service Company, and Weapons Company. With 2d Battalion, 2d Marines, First Sergeant Bansah participated in deployments to Morón, Spain & NAS Sigonella, for Special Purpose MAGTF-Crisis Response-Africa; Al Qwerah, Jordan, for Exercise EAGER LION; and Okinawa, Japan, as part of the Unit Deployment Program. 

In January 2017, First Sergeant Bansah was transferred to Headquarters and Service Battalion where he served the Marines of Capabilities and Development Directorate, Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory, and the Marine Corps Combat Development Command as the Company First Sergeant, Combat Development Company. In April 2018, First Sergeant Bansah was assigned as the Company First Sergeant, Tenant Activities Company to serve the Marines of Manpower and Reserve Affairs Department of Headquarters Marine Corps, Marine Corps Recruiting Command, Marine Corps Systems Command, the Marine Corps Operational Test and Evaluation Agency, and the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate.

In September 2019, Sergeant Major Bansah was transferred to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263, where he served as the Squadron Sergeant Major. During this time, he participated in deployments to Morón, Spain & NAS Sigonella, for Special Purpose MAGTF-Crisis Response-Africa as the ACE Sergeant Major. In July 2021, Sergeant Major Bansah was transferred to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167, where he served as the Squadron Sergeant Major until he received orders to Marine Air Control Group-28.

Sergeant Major Bansah holds a bachelor's degree in human resource management from the American Public University. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two Gold Stars, and the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three Gold Stars.
