Brandon P. Mokris, a native of Charlotte, NC, was commissioned in May 2007 after graduating from the University of South Carolina. Upon completion of The Basic School in July 2008, Second Lieutenant Mokris was sent to Camp Johnson to attend Logistics Officers Course.
After completing Logistics Officers Course in October 2008, he was assigned to 2d Battalion, 4th Marines, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division aboard Camp Pendleton, CA as the Maintenance Management Officer. Second Lieutenant Mokris was promoted to First Lieutenant in May 2009. First Lieutenant Mokris deployed with Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 2/4 in September 2009 with the 11th MEU aboard the USS Bonhomme-Richard (LHD-6). First Lieutenant Mokris served as the direct Logistical Liaison for the BLT aboard the BHR as well as the Maintenance Management Officer and Motor Transportation Officer. First Lieutenant Mokris also served as senior logistics officer for the BLT while deployed on the BHR.
Upon returning from the 11th MEU in April of 2010, First Lieutenant Mokris assumed the responsibilities as the S-4 Officer for 2/4. First Lieutenant Mokris was promoted to Captain in June 2011 and deployed again with 2/4 to Musa Qal’ah District, Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from August 2011 to March 2012. Captain Mokris jobs included the Logistics Officer and Supply Officer for the battalion during the deployment supporting over 1200 Marines and Sailors.
Upon returning from his deployment to Afghanistan, Captain Mokris executed orders to Charleston, SC in June 2012 where he took over as the Inspector Instructor for Charlie Company, 4th Landing Support Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group. Due to Force Structure Realignment, Charlie Company, 4th Landing Support Battalion transitioned into Detachment 3, Supply Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 451 where Captain Mokris served as the Inspector Instructor for two supply detachments and a MEDLOG Company.
After leaving Charleston, SC, Captain Mokris attended the Army Logistics Captains Career Course in Ft. Lee, VA where he graduated in July 2015 as an honor graduate. Captain Mokris executed orders to Headquarters Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force in Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as the Assistant Logistics Officer from August 2015 to April 2017. Captain Mokris assumed responsibilities as the Group Logistics Officer in May 2017 and was promoted to Major in June 2017.
After leaving II MHG in August 2017, Major Mokris reported to First Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment in Parris Island, SC where he served as the Battalion Executive Officer for two years. In July 2019, Major Mokris became the Regimental Operation’s Officer where he served for one year supporting the Marine Corps’ mission of Making Marines.
In July 2020, Major Mokris transferred to FedEx Express in Memphis, Tennessee where he served as a Commandant of the Marine Corps’ Military fellow for FedEx Express.
In July 2021, Major Mokris transferred to the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit where he served as the MEU’s Logistics Officer. In March 2022, Major Mokris deployed with the 22d MEU to the Sixth Fleet Area of Operations. In August, Major Mokris was promoted to LtCol.
LtCol Mokris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of South Carolina and a Masters of Business Administration degree in Management from the Strayer University. LtCol Mokris graduated from the Marine Corps Non-Resident Expeditionary Warfare School in 2014 and Marine Corps Non-Resident Command and Staff in 2019.
LtCol Mokris’ decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with two gold stars in lieu of 3rd award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with one gold star in lieu of 2d award) and Outstanding Volunteer Medal.
