Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Brady, enlisted in the Marine Corps as a Rifleman in July 1994 and attended boot camp at MCRD Parris Island. Following graduation, he trained at the School of Infantry in Camp Geiger, NC and at the Marine Corps Security Forces course in Chesapeake, VA as a Marine Security Guard. Following his training LtCol Brady was stationed in Naples, Italy. In 1996, LtCol Brady deployed in support of Operation JOINT ENDEAVOR in Bosnia. In 1997, he was selected for the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program. He attended Worcester State College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2000.
Following his commission as a Second Lieutenant, LtCol Brady completed the Basic School in Quantico, VA and then reported to 29 Palms, CA for the Air Support Control Officer Course and Fort Bliss, TX for the Air Defense Officer course. Upon graduation, he reported to Marine Air Support Squadron 3, Camp Pendleton, CA where he served as an Air Support Control Officer. LtCol Brady deployed with the Direct Air Support Center (DASC) (Forward) during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Upon his return, LtCol Brady was assigned to Air Support Company where he would serve as the 2nd Platoon Commander.
LtCol Brady was reassigned in 2004 to MASS-1 at Cherry Point and served as the DASC OIC during OIF 04-06 supporting operations in the Anbar Province. Upon his return, he would serve as the Operations Officer until March 2006 when he was selected as the Officer Selection Officer for Boston, Massachusetts.
LtCol Brady would successfully serve as the OSO in Boston until May 2009. He then attended and graduated from the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA. LtCol Brady served as an augment instructor at Officer Candidates School for the summer before he reported back to Cherry Point for duty.
While in Cherry Point, LtCol Brady served as the Marine Air Control Group 28 Detachment Commander on the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit supporting operations during Operation UNIFIED PROTECTOR and in 5th and 6th Fleet area of operations. Upon his return to the control group, LtCol Brady was assigned as the operations officer for MASS-1. In January 2011, LtCol Brady would deploy as the Executive Officer for MACG-28 in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Upon his return, LtCol Brady would serve as the Executive Officer of 2d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion until 2014 until he was reassigned to Eastern Recruiting Region as the Assistant for Officer Procurement. In 2017, LtCol Brady would be assigned to Marine Air Control Group 18 as the Operations Officer until assuming command at 2d LAAD Bn.
LtCol Brady’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4th award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5th award).
